The Florida Gateway Fair is officially open, and for the next ten days, Lake City is getting a taste of everything that makes a county fair worth the trip.From rides and games to all the fair food you can think of… popcorn, cotton candy, candy apples and more, the fairgrounds are coming alive starting at 5 p.m. daily. Back in August, the property across the street collapsed. The eight-months-in-the-making framing of the new rodeo arena turned into a heap of twisted metal.Fair representatives tell us the investigation into why the structure collapsed is still not complete and the site remains off limits. But they want the community to know that arena is used during different seasons and events and will have no impact on this year’s fall fair.The Fair runs through November 8th.
