The average licensed Florida driver would spend about $2,454 a year on regular gasoline, or roughly $205 a month, at prices recorded Sept. 28, according to an analysis by vehicle history website Bumper.Prices have shifted since then. On Nov. 2, Channel 9 reported that Orlando’s average had fallen nearly 28 cents in a week to $3.85 a gallon, according to GasBuddy. That was still nearly 87 cents more than a year earlier. Why Florida’s estimated fuel bill is higherFlorida ranked 21st among states for estimated annual gas costs. Its estimate was $98 above the national figure of $2,356, even though the statewide price Bumper used, about $4.34 a gallon, was below the national price of about $4.53.The difference was mileage. Bumper calculated about 13,238 miles a year per licensed driver in Florida, roughly 1,045 more than the national figure. Using the same fuel economy of 23.43 miles per gallon nationwide, that works out to about 565 gallons a year in Florida versus 520 nationally.Bumper use
