Areas of Heavy Rain Possible Sunday — Vero Beach Community news

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Halloween gave us just a few showers. At SRQ, 0.02” of rain fell. That makes the October total 9.76”, which is 7.00” above average. November is typically not a very wet month. Our November average is only 1.81” – We’ll get some of that in the first three days! A low pressure system is swinging into the Florida Peninsula today, bringing plenty of moisture and unsettled conditions today. If you’re heading out on the Suncoast, keep your umbrella handy—we’re expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, with the heaviest activity likely this afternoon and evening. If you hear thunder, it’s time to head indoors – dangerous lightning is also possible. This unsettled pattern doesn’t wrap up quickly. Monday will see more of the same—scattered showers and thunderstorms continuing throughout the day as the shortwave lingers over Florida. By Tuesday, things begin to improve, though a few showers are still possible in the afternoon. The rain chances drop
