AJJ to play ‘Dirty Old Power’ tunes in post-election Tampa concert on Tuesday

AJJ Credit: Chris Chappell / Terrorbird AJJ, formerly known as Andrew Jackson Jihad (a moniker the group has long denounced), has never shied away from the doomy dreariness that is life on earth—and plays a Tampa show one week after the midterm elections. A new LP, Dirty Old Power, continues that tradition and finds the anti-folk outfit trying to find a balance between cynicism and hope. This time, however, AJJ has peppered its punky pop music with more keys (“Florid Language”) and quiet moments, too (“Bitch Ass World”). Greet Death, a Michigan quintet that released a gem of a shoegazing rock album last year (Die In Love), opens. Tickets to see AJJ and Greet Death at Orpheum in Tampa on Tuesday, Nov. 10 are still available and start at $37.60. Dirty Old Power by AJJ Pitch in to help make the Tampa Bay Journalism Project a success.
